Emergency MaintenancePlanned Maintenance

Description

Due to a compute shortage starting on September 18th 2026, NovelAI will undergo emergency maintenance to maintain model availability. This process requires temporarily migrating our image generation models (V4.5, V4, and V3) to a different type of GPU. This will affect reproducibility of seeds as different types of GPUs have different numerics. If you are currently working on a project that relies on certain seeds on affected models, we recommend wrapping up those projects before the 18th. V5 seed reproducibility will likely be affected as well. Additionally, certain text generation models will be temporarily unavailable from September 18th. The affected models are: Kayra, Erato (GLM-4.6 and Xialong are not affected). Due to technical limitations, we cannot migrate the text models in time. We apologize for this unexpected service disruption. We have received a provisional amount of compute from CoreWeave to do initial setup, however because of the complexity required to get the GPUs working, we will have to delay Phase 2 of this maintenance (where we would move the affected models back to the previous class of GPU they run on) to tomorrow, September 23rd 2026. We have not received the necessary amount of compute, however it is enough to bring Kayra and Erato back, so we will be doing that in the next couple of hours. We expect to have all compute available on September 24th 2026 to restore the image models to their previous class of GPUs.

Kayra and Erato have been restored back to full functionality right now. We expect the compute situation to fully resolve itself on September 24th 2026, once that is resolved we will proceed to migrate the image models back.
